Oxygen lance is for accelerate melting speed or helping decrease carbon, it is widely used for steel-making production, such as: Argon oxygen decarburization (AOD),Vacuum degassing furnace(VOD) ,Carbon-oxygen lance on the door of electric arc furnace to eject oxygen and carbon powder to furnace through furnace door, Oxygen lance on electrical arc furnace wall to eject oxygen to furnace.
Main function
The main function of the oxygen lance nozzle is to reasonably control the emulsification and foaming phenomenon in the molten steel of the converter through the mixing of the injected oxygen jet to the molten steel pool and the reaction with the molten steel pool, so as to obtain the appropriate content of FeO in the slag, promote the rapid melting of lime and obtain the appropriate alkalinity, so as to realize the goals of decarbonization, heating and dephosphorization of the converter.
Causes of nozzle damage:
1) Scour and rapid cooling and hot action of high temperature steel slag.
2) Bad cooling.
3) Nozzle end face bonding steel.
4) Poor quality of sprinkler.
The criteria for discontinuation of oxygen lance nozzles are as follows:
1) Nozzle outlet deformation greater than or equal to 3 mm, should be replaced.
2) Spray hole erosion deformation, smelting index deterioration, should be replaced in time.
3) Nozzle, oxygen gun leakage or leakage, should be replaced.
4) The nozzle or gun body shall be replaced when the nozzle or body is rinsed in greater than or equal to 4mm.
5) Nozzle or gun body stick steel thickened to a certain diameter, should be replaced immediately.
6) When the nozzle is damaged and the gun body is bent more than 40mm, it should be replaced.
The ways to improve the life of the sprinkler are as follows:
1) The nozzle design is reasonable to ensure the good performance of oxygen jet.
2) High purity oxygen-free copper forging process or casting process is used to make sprinkler to ensure quality.
3) It is better to replace casting sprinkler with forged combined nozzle to improve its cooling effect and service performance and prolong its service life.
4) Adopt the reasonable oxygen supply system, work under the designed oxygen pressure condition, strictly prevent the oxygen pressure of the main pipe from being insufficient.
5) Improve the quality of raw materials, maintain the stability of its composition and comply with the standard. When the raw material conditions change, adjust the gun position in time to keep the operation stable and avoid burning the nozzle.
6) Improve operation level and implement standardized operation. It is necessary to control the process temperature strictly and improve the hit rate of the final carbon and temperature control, and to measure the height of the furnace liquid level in time, and adjust the gun position according to the bottom condition of the furnace.
7) When the combined blowing process is adopted, when the bottom blowing flow rate increases, the top blowing gun position should be raised accordingly, in order to obtain a smooth blowing process.
